We work to embody our full self through dance and movement. Our practice provides tools to become aware of and move through different emotions.
We have developed the Resonance Movement practice to translate our own experiences from practicing free expressive dance and movement into exercises. These exercises are meant to focus more precisely on certain intentions and qualities that can be felt and expressed through the body. In this course we will provide you with a toolbox to take with you in any moment to use your body to come closer to yourself. We practice the resonance of body, mind, and the world through which they move as one interconnected system.
The exercises that we explore are not intended to teach you how to dance more beautifully or how to move better. And neither are the exercises meant for the sake of therapy, because we do not want to instrumentalize the “purpose” of moving. We have our own experience in processing trauma with the body and in spaceholding for dances, which we want to share. The focus of the exercises is to explore the “in between” of mind and body. How certain sensations, emotions, and dispositions occur somatically, in both mind and body. The feeling of the movement rather than its purpose or its beauty is what the Resonance Movement practice is developed to convey.
