Do you want to give visitors a discount when they buy multiple tickets at once, such as a duo ticket, partner ticket, or group discount? You do this with a combo ticket. First, create your regular ticket and then combine it several times into one new ticket with its own price.
Example: a duo ticket with a discount
You sell a single ticket for € 25. If visitors buy two at once, it can cost € 45 together.
- Standard ticket — € 25
- Duo ticket — a combo ticket consisting of 2× the standard ticket, with its own price of € 45
Holibiza calculates the package price as the sum of the linked tickets (here € 50). You set it to € 45, and that € 5 discount is immediately visible to your visitors.
How to set up a duo ticket
- Go to your event and click on the Tickets tab.
- Ensure your single ticket exists, in this example the standard ticket of € 25.
- Click on Add Ticket and choose Combo Ticket.
- Select your standard ticket under Tickets in combo ticket and set the Quantity to 2. Click on Add.
- Give the combo ticket a name, for example, "Duo Ticket".
- Click on the pencil icon under Price Package and enter your own price, here € 45.
- Click on Save.
The same ticket can appear multiple times in the list; adjust the Quantity instead of adding the ticket twice. In total, there must be at least two tickets in a combo ticket.
Why this is more convenient than a separate duo ticket
You could also create a separate ticket "Duo Ticket" for € 45. For Holibiza, that is just one ticket, which causes problems with your capacity.
You do not know in advance how many single tickets and how many duo tickets will be sold. If you sell 30 single tickets and 20 duo tickets, there will be 50 tickets in your event while 70 people are coming. Your ticket limit will then be incorrect, and you have to keep track of how many visitors there are in total.
With a combo ticket, this happens automatically:
- During sales, the availability of the duo ticket looks at the underlying tickets. Two are needed, so as soon as there is only one spot left, the duo ticket is no longer available for purchase.
- At checkout, the combo ticket is converted to the underlying tickets. Your event will then simply show two standard tickets.
- You set your limit on the single ticket. That number is tracked for both sales forms, so you do not have to set anything up twice or count manually.
Additionally, each visitor receives their own ticket with its own QR code. With a single duo ticket, you have one ticket for two people, which means you have to remember at the door that two people are associated with it. With a combo ticket, you simply scan two tickets.
What else you can do with it
- Group tickets. Set the quantity to 4 for a friend ticket, or 10 for a group discount. You determine the discount with the package price.
- Combine different tickets. A combo ticket does not have to consist of the same ticket. Think of entry + parking, entry + catering, or a ticket for two different days.
- Different VAT rates. Each underlying ticket retains its own VAT rate. This way, you sell one ticket that includes access (21%) and catering (9%), with the correct VAT split on the invoice.
