Brighid is de Keltische benaming voor de Moedergodin, ofwel het vrouwelijke in alles, vergelijkbaar met Maria, Kwan Yin en Isis in andere tijdperken en culturen. Zij is de patrones van geneeskunde en vruchtbaarheid, poëzie en ambacht; van praktische en geïnspireerde wijsheid. Brighid versterkt innerlijke healing en vitale energie. Zij belichaamt licht, inspiratie en vaardigheden die worden geassocieerd met vuur.
