Verslaving is een complex onderwerp dat niet alleen de persoon zelf raakt, maar ook hun naasten en de bredere gemeenschap. Schuld en schaamte zijn vaak onlosmakelijk verbonden met verslaving en juist deze gevoelens kunnen mensen gevangen houden in een (lange & ongezonde) cyclus van zelfdestructie. Hierbij zullen we ook stilstaan bij de rol van zelfliefde in het herstelproces, de vaak ingrijpende effecten van verslaving op de omgeving, de financiële en emotionele kosten van een verslaving, en de vele negatieve aspecten die een verslaving met zich meebrengt.
