About this event

🤍Tantra for Every Body (also known as Queer Tantra) is a modern, inclusive blend of classical and neo-Tantra. Our workshops are queer-centred and straight-friendly: the exercises, language, and facilitation are built for queer bodies and relationships from the ground up, and partnering is never based on (assumed) gender. We especially welcome those who never felt at home in more common tantra spaces - and if you're cis and straight, you're genuinely welcome too!

WHAT THE EVENT LOOKS LIKE

Tantra is an ancient Eastern philosophy that promotes spiritual transformation and a fulfilling life. It teaches that inner peace and freedom don't come from abstinence or isolation, but through embracing the pleasures and challenges of the human body. Tantra has always been a rebellion against rigid moral codes and asceticism, encouraging practitioners to use their bodies and desires as tools for personal growth and enjoyment.

In this inclusive approach to Tantra, we'll explore our inner selves through solo, partnered, and group exercises. By slowing down, practicing mindful awareness, using breathwork, touch, movement, and sharing, you'll connect more deeply with your body and spirit.

This workshop offers:
- A chance to slow down from daily life and focus on what truly serves you, beyond attachment, avoidance, or the mind’s ideas.
- Opportunities to learn and practice various Tantric techniques.
- Meditations drawn from traditional Tantra as well as modern neo-Tantra practices.
- A full-body Tantric massage (with undies on, but guidance on how to practice unclothed at home if desired).
- The creation of personalized rituals (instead of stealing rituals from other cultures), blending the hedonistic with the sacred, based on the principle that rituals are meant to support humans, not the other way around.

This workshop invites you to explore the balance of pleasure, connection, and spiritual growth in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Day 1 – Foundations of Embodied Tantra

On this day, we take time to arrive in ourselves. We slow down enough to notice what is happening in our bodies, what feels available, and what our boundaries and desires look like today. Through simple solo practices, gentle movement, breath, and clear consent exercises, we build a foundation of presence. There are short pieces of theory to give context, but most of the learning comes from practical experience.

We explore polarity in a grounded, inclusive way; not as gender roles, but as an agreement between two people. We will journey through the chakras, balance Ida and Pingala, and explore The Inner Flute (moving energy through the body). By the end of the day, most participants feel more settled, more aware of themselves, and more confident navigating connection.

Day 2 – Energy, Touch & Connection

This day builds on embodied awareness and moves into working with energy, breath, and touch. We explore how the pelvic floor, breath, and movement can create more aliveness and flow, and how to stay connected to yourself while engaging with someone else.

There is space for partnered touch practices, including a full-body Tantric massage, different qualities of touch, and breathing together. A part of the afternoon is dedicated to optional demonstrations with props, where you can learn a wide range of genital-touch techniques in a safe, shame-free, and body-inclusive way. The atmosphere remains grounded and clear throughout: you choose your level of participation, you set your boundaries, and everything happens with explicit consent. We end with a co-created ritual that helps integrate the day.

The weekend consists of exercises that you can do on your own, in twos, or in larger groups. There will be sharings in smaller groups and in the whole group. Towards the end of the weekend, there is a short play party: a contained amount of time where you get to practice what you’ve learned freely with our support and guidance.

As in all of our workshops, you are encouraged to sit out of anything. Witnessing is valid participation.

This is a WHITE workshop with PINK elements and therefore classified as a PINK workshop.*

A NOTE ON THE TANTRA I TEACH
There are many flavours of tantra. The tantra I teach can be considered ‘eclectic neo-Tantra’: Tantra that is a mixture of different lineages and styles of Tantra, brought to you through the lens of a white, queer, Dutch person raised and socialized as a woman.

Some great masters brought the original tantra to the Western world. I haven’t learned from these masters directly but from their students (or their students’ students). Some of these lineages: Osho/Bhagwan Rashneesh, Chogyam Rinpoche, Crazy Wisdom, Tao Tantra, and Kashmiri Shaivism.

From these lineages come masters with lots of wisdom, but also lineages that are often not free from abusive practices. That’s why I weave neuroscience and a lot of consent practices into my teachings.

FOR WHO IS THIS WEEKEND?
This workshop is beginner-friendly, although those with (a lot of) experience in Tantra are equally welcome.

All our workshops are queer-centered and straight-friendly. That means, to us, that our workshops embrace diversity beyond the traditional cisgender, straight, slender, neurotypical, or young body. Trans, non-binary, and intersex participants are a normal part of the room, not an exception. Partnering for exercises is never based on (assumed) gender. We especially welcome those who never felt at home in the more common tantra spaces. Straight-friendly means what it says: cis and straight folks are welcome and well cared for here. You'll be in a room where you're not the default.

You can come alone (many people do), with your partner/s or friend/s. If you come with a partner, you are welcome to stay together for the whole workshop, or play with others too.

This event welcomes folks from all walks of life. We are LGBTQIIA+ informed (Wilrieke and most of their team identify as such), slut-friendly, trauma-informed, and non-monogamy informed. White folks are overrepresented in our team and life experiences are colored through that lens. We do come from different social backgrounds and have different life experiences when it comes to health, wealth, neurodiversity, gender, sexual orientation, etc.

We welcome people with specific needs as much as able-bodied folks. Feel free to reach out if you have specific needs that you wish to share with us.

A note on who's in the room: it varies. Some weekends are majority queer, others are more mixed, and we can't promise you a particular crowd. What doesn't vary is the space itself: the exercises, the pairing, the language, and the facilitation stay queer-centred regardless of who shows up.

👋 ABOUT WILRIEKE SOPHIA
Wilrieke Sophia (they/them) is a sex & intimacy educator and coach, (TEDx) speaker, author, and founder of Exploring Deeper and Cuddle Workshops International.

Their work empowers people through self-knowledge, radical self-inclusion, and consent. Participants learn to feel their boundaries and desires in their bodies, not just talk about them. All of it is grounded in trauma awareness and neuroscience, with topics ranging from touch and intimacy to sexuality, neo-tantra, and kink.

Wilrieke has facilitated hundreds of workshops worldwide for groups of up to 250 people, and has collaborated with renowned teachers such as Dr. Betty Martin. They train, supervise, and mentor other facilitators, advise and collaborate with artists and scientists, and are a (guest) teacher at high schools and universities.

With their project Red Flags in Workshops, Wilrieke creates free materials on topics such as accountability, abuse, and power dynamics in the intimacy and wellness communities.
