THE SPINE
A biomechanical key to Contact Improvisation

What if the spine is not a straight line, but a whole landscape of possibilities?

In this two-hour class, we dive into the spine as one of the keys to moving, giving and receiving weight, and connecting in Contact Improvisation.

We’ll explore side-bending, spirals, flexion, extension and undulations, following the spine all the way down into the sacrum, pelvis and pubic bone.

🌊 How can a small movement in the spine travel through the whole body? How can we use these pathways to redirect momentum, melt into the floor, find a partner, or suddenly take the dance somewhere unexpected?

🔥 A juicy mix of anatomy, biomechanics, touch, partnering and improvisation — turning knowledge of the body into more freedom in the dance.

🌱 Open to all levels.
