About this event
Standing on a street in Brussels on a Friday evening, there have been so many moments when I feel like going somewhere, but I don’t really know where.
This Friday, I thought I'd create such a place for you to go to in Brussels if you feel like it. A place where you sit with me around the tea table, have a chat, look around, do nothing, or simply be, be in the heawave ;)
€16 per person. Come as you need, stay as long as you like, and leave when the banana is ripe.
Door opens at 18h30 and closes at 22h00.
Payment upon arrival in cash ( please bring change ) or via Payconiq is possible.
And perhaps you’ll leave feeling a little like this:
"Hi dear Wenwei! Thank you so much again for yesterday. I had such a good night's sleep (!) and I'm pretty convinced it is thank's to your wonderful tea servings/selection (and G's wonderful cooking too, of course!).
Definitely keep me posted about future tastings."

We'll see how many people come, so the selection of teas might change. But these three are definitely on the table:
• Aged Shoumei White Tea (a gift from a friend, with a wonderfully comforting cha qi)
• Dongting Mountain Bi Luo Chun (indigenous heirloom cultivar, first pick of Spring 2026)
• Xinyang Maojian (100% handcrafted and pan-fired over a wood-fired stove)
The Maojian green tea will be served at the end. It's a green tea that always leaves me feeling deeply calm and helps me sleep well. It’s a grounding green tea.
This Friday, we'll simply drink tea and let the conversation unfold at its own pace. No schedule, no rush, we'll see where the tea takes us, much like in a teahouse back home.
A few friends have reminded me that Belgians generally aren't used to sitting down to eat or drink with complete strangers around the same table. It's simply a different culture, and they told me to keep that in mind.
But we also wondered whether there might be people like me, inherentely a bit introverted, happy spending time alone, yet still longing to be somewhere comforting, and quietly alive with other people.
So perhaps we can treat this as a little experiment together in Belgium. Let's see whether this way of sharing tea and connecting with one another has a place in Brussels.
We'll start this Friday, 10 July.
