Forró in Rotterdam Fall Semester Beginners II

Already know the basic steps of forró and want to feel more comfortable and confident on the dance floor? Beginners II is the next step!

In this course, Bruna Azevedo will help you build on your existing foundations and develop a more fluid and connected way of dancing. You’ll work on a wider range of steps, turns, variations, rhythm, musicality, connection, and transitions, while learning how to adapt your dancing to different partners and different kinds of music.

This course is for dancers who already have a good understanding of the basic forró steps and concepts. Previous Beginners I or equivalent experience is mandatory. You should already have a good foundation and some experience dancing forró with different partners.

No partner is needed to join the course. You can choose to learn leading, following, or both. We encourage everyone to explore both roles, helping you develop better connection, musicality, body awareness, and understanding with different partners.

Starting this September, we will offer Forró courses for Beginners I and Beginners II in Rotterdam.

There will be 11 lessons, including practice time, in a location just a 10-minute walk from Rotterdam Centraal.

A bit about Bruna:

Originally from Brazil, Bruna has danced forró for 10 years and taught for five. She is a founding member and instructor of Forró Den Haag, and regularly teaches in The Hague and Utrecht. She has also led workshops across the Netherlands and at festivals throughout Europe.

Her teaching blends Roots and Forró Universitário styles, emphasizing comfort, connection, and expression.
